Winter of Takayama

Every autumn,
people of Takayama will start predicting
whether it will snow a lot or little the coming winter.

Last autumn, I had heard many people say
we will be having heavy snow.

This is how Takayama looked on January 16th!!

Takayama is all white

The lowest temperature this morning was - 9 degrees Celsius!!

Japan had been having a warm winter till 2 weeks ago,
but now, it's way more freezing than usual.

Takayama is all white and beautiful.

first snow

The first snow this year was on 27 November.

The Takayama City Library and snow matches beautifully.

It had been quite warm during November this year.

BUT

autumn is leaving,
winter is around the corner
and
a sign of snow has showed up on the forecast!!

The lowest temperature was around 4 degrees Celsius (39.2 F)
and the highest was 6 (42.8)

Takayama will be covered in white blanket of snow.
