more greens
getting hotter and hotter

summer will be here soon in Takayama!!

When the sun is out during the day,
the temperature already goes above 30 degrees Celsius
but walk into an old style Japanese houses
it is surprisingly cool inside!!

Boy's Festival

Commonly, we celebrate boy's festival on May 5th,
but in Takayama, we celebrate it one month later
because of the late coming of spring.

We put up carps along the Miyagawa (Miya-river)
and they are floating beautifuly
with the cool breeze blowing over the river.

With the fresh greens,
a stroll along the river is something you shouldn't miss
in such wonderful season!!

Takayama Spring Festival

Takayama Spring Festival was held
on April 14th and 15th.

The weather was beautiful and warm.
Cherry trees were at their full bloom.

The beauty of each festival floats were elaborated
by the blue sky and the pink blossoms.

We had the most perfect Spring Festival ever!!

It's a bit earlier than usual,
but much, much late compared to other regions.

Takayama is enjoying blooms of spring!!

Ume (Japanese Plum) has just finished
and cherry trees are blooming.
Some trees are at its full boom.

Fresh green vegetables has joined the morning markets
and the city is become more and more colorfull!!

"Hinamatsuri" Girl's Festival

Typically, "Hinamatsuri" (Girl's Festival) is celebrated on March 3rd in Japan,
but because of the late coming of spring,
it is celebrated on April 3rd in Takayama.

In many places,
beautiful Hina Dolls are being decorated
and it is marvelous to take a
"find Hina Dolls stroll" in the town area.

Each and every faces and forms are distinctively different from others!!

It is always so difficult to take photos of window displays
because everything reflects on the window including myself, ha-ha.
But I hope you enjoy my photos
and believe me they are only a part of the numerous collections.
